Reflection Unit 4

  To learn the content of a unit, we need to read this article about the music unit first. Then we need to think and discuss about the project and related history of this music. We also need to seek out the genres and popular music. Next, we need to make a playlist about music to express the type of music we like. Finally, we can use this music knowledge to write a reflection on this unit. We need to read every article about music carefully so that we can better understand the content of this article. I use the articles and videos published by my teacher about the Blues and Rap genres to learn and understand their popularity and evolution. In class, students enter the group to discuss the content of the article, so that they can understand the content better. Everyone expresses their thoughts. The teacher finally explained to us the content of the article and the popularity of music. The teacher will also post videos about music genres for us to watch so that we can better understand the culture of music. 

  Slave music is about sorrow and joys of African Americans. Small shacks are about Juke Joints. Slave songs about the Blues genre are about the culture of the 20th and 21st centuries. European musicians make Blues popular in the U.S. I know that Blues gave birth to Rock n' Roll. American culture is influenced by the Blues, and the Blues have also influenced the changes in American society. Blues shaped American culture, and Blues is a turning point in American culture. There are many genres of music. I learn that music genres have Rock, Bluegrass, Urban Folk, Disco, Reggae, Punk, and Heavy Metal music. The popular music represented by each kind of music is also different. I also see the top 40 chart. I listened this music that is very popular. I think that Rap music is undeniably one of the most popular genres in America today. Rap music is a part of the hip-hop culture. I learn that Rap is a delivery style that includes rhyme, rhythm, and spoken language, usually delivered over a beat. Rap music is very innovative. I did about music playlist. There are songs about my favorite songs, songs my parents like, songs about genres, and songs that are valuable to me. 

  My Aha moment is that the music playlists made by everyone are very interesting and the songs are very nice. My Bumper Sticker is BLUES.

  I don't know if there many popular music genres that we don't know.
